What breeds will be available?
Right now we are looking for homes for female American Cocker Spaniels and Female Irish Setters and a Male Irish Setter
What are the responsibilities of the Guardian Homes (medical, quality food, regular walks, etc)?
Anything pet related is the responsibility of the Guardian home. So Vaccinations, food, regular exercise, all regular pet life is your responsibility. Anything breeding related is our responsibility. So extra supplements while nursing, ultrasounds if needed, and genetic testing and things related to breeding dogs are all the breeder’s responsibility.
Who is responsible to spay or neuter the dog when they are done in the breeding program?
It is Stone Cutter Puppies responsibility to spay or neuter the dog when he or she is done their commitment to our program.
How many litters of puppies must my dog have before they are done with the program?
Each breed/Sex of dog has a different commitment. For instance, bigger dogs typically have bigger litters so the commitment is smaller. And Male dogs don’t have Long commitments at a time, they only supply semen to the female dogs so their commitment is longer in years. Each instance is different dependent on the dog. Please feel free to message me and discuss your specific circumstance.
If I am to decide to do a guardianship today will I get my dog immediately?
In most instances, it takes a while for us to establish a guardian home. Be prepared for the process as in this high-demand market we as breeders are also having a higher wait time finding puppies for our program even with having connections.
Where do I need to be located?
We require you to be about 2 hours from Rimbey Alberta maximum. Male dogs would need to be a maximum of 1 hour. We will make some exceptions for those who are prepared to drive but this has to be the rule of thumb.
Can I pick the exact color I want?
If we are looking for the color you would like then yes. But we have a specific breeding program and color is part of this program. We try to work with you on choice but even supply sometimes doesn’t work out for us. We do our best to make everyone happy!
Will my dog handle being gone from me when she has puppies?
I make sure your dog knows me with a few visits each year and she will be happy to come to our house. I take the very best care of her while she is with us. You get to come visit her and her pups once the puppies are 3 weeks old. I am often called the dog whisperer because dogs feel safe and secure around me and i am confident your sweet girl will too. She will feel at home. Take the opportunity to book a vacation during her stay with us and think of us as the Kennel 🙂
Are there extra perks to the breeding program besides a free dog?
There sure are! How about a second free dog? Or maybe some cash to help with your expenses? We believe you should have extra rewards for being part of this amazing program! Feel free to ask about those extra bonuses!
